Subscriber information is not shown in Live Status, NIKO's Diary, or any other public Experiment Zero record.

Ask-AI measurement sends exactly an event name, a selected provider identifier, and a coarse public surface label to a same-origin endpoint. The server adds event time. The endpoint rejects extra or sensitive fields, including source URLs, page identifiers or comparison slugs, prompt text, citation topics, research arcs, and client-supplied timestamps. It does not receive the visitor's AI conversation.

The Ask-AI endpoint uses the request network address only as transient in-memory rate state and does not include it in the accepted event record.

The site is configured to use Vercel Web Analytics for page views and privacy-safe conversion events, plus Vercel Speed Insights for web-performance metrics. Waitlist events contain only the coarse acquisition class, form location, and whether the persisted result was new or already present. Resource events contain only the resource identifier, completion state, and export format. These events do not contain email addresses, member questions, contract contents, credentials, or downloaded output.

Waitlist submission sends the email address, signup source, join time, and an empty bot-trap field. If a visitor explicitly accepts the member-session notice and submits a valid journey, the server may also create an optional provisional-member session and save the supplied question and artifact. Its same-origin session cookie is HttpOnly, so browser scripts cannot read it, and the email remains unverified. Ordinary waitlist signup without that accepted notice does not request a private member session. A successful signup also sets a same-origin HttpOnly cookie, niko-library, for 30 days. That cookie unlocks the PDF and the slides for a public research article or field report in this browser, and the markdown copy of the same page. It does not contain the email address.

A signed NIKO acquisition link may also carry a bounded attribution grant. The website forwards that grant to the subscriber store without adding it to analytics. Persistence can create only a pending claim; it does not verify that NIKO caused the signup. UTM values, an existing signup, and the browser success message are never treated as proof. Only later canonical verification can change the public NIKO-attributed signup count.

INSIDE EXPERIMENT ZERO COMMUNITY.

A signed edition link can create a private community session. The browser stores that session in a Secure, HttpOnly, same-site cookie. Public edition pages do not receive or display subscriber email addresses or internal subscriber identifiers.

At signup, Ernesta Labs preserves the verified joining snapshot shown in the welcome email. Older subscribers may instead receive a later baseline that is labelled as a baseline, not reconstructed joining history. These records support future comparisons.

A community contribution or email reply is private by default and remains unattributed by default. It stays linked to the relevant edition and research artifact. Optional public attribution requires a separate, unchecked consent choice recorded with consent version community-attribution-v1. That permission is not a promise that a contribution will be published.

Contribution acknowledgments, delivery frequency, and unsubscribe state are returned only in a private, non-cacheable member context. Delivery can be set to daily, weekly, or paused. Provider acceptance is retained as an operational receipt and is not treated as proof of delivery or engagement. Unsubscribe links use bounded signed tokens; a page visit alone does not unsubscribe you, while the dedicated one-click POST endpoint supports mail-client unsubscribe actions.

OPEN-SOURCE RESEARCH SUBMISSIONS.

The research submission form collects the project name and public URL, the maintainer or builder's name and email, and the context they choose to provide.

Ernesta Labs uses these details to examine the submitted project, contact the submitter about the submission, and prepare the public analysis or opinion requested through the form.

The submitted contact details are not published unless the submitter separately agrees. The public project URL, project name, and our independent analysis may be published. Submission records are retained as necessary to manage the research request and document consent.
